Airlines at the San Antonio International Airport recommend arriving 90 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time for domestic travel and 2 hours prior to your scheduled departure time during peak travel time.

Most airlines offer self-service kiosks for quicker check-in and some offer online check-in with the option to print boarding pass up to 24 hours before your scheduled departure time. Contact your airline for more information.

Airport Security Screening (TSA) – TSA recently deployed its state-of-the-art advanced imaging technology. Imaging technology is an integral part of TSA’s effort to continually look for new technologies that help ensure travel remains safe and secure by staying ahead of evolving threats.

TSA uses two types of imaging technology, millimeter wave and back scatter. Advanced imaging technology screening is safe for all passengers and the technology meets national health and safety standards. Learn more about the safety of Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT) here.

You may opt out of the AIT and request a pat-down from a same-gender security officer. Pat-downs are done with the fronts of the officer’s hands. You may request that your pat-down be carried out in private. For more information about the TSA security measures.
